Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Waiting in Skagway AK since yesterday for a break in the weather. This is just a few miles from shorton in Haines, the birthplace of this classic thread. I agree, the f-ing weather sucks around here.

Start swimming! I'd much rather be stuck in Haines. Shane has a nice place.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Go to the Elks lodge there in Skag, it's a nice place to wait out the weather. If it opens down the ditch but not over the top come on over to Haines and give me a call, at least you can sit in my house and curse the weather. #-o

Re: Where did you fly today?

Thanks Shane. We are all settled in here at the Sargeant P. Might make Haines but home is out of the question for my skill set. I guess we'll just hang in here, don't like the wing cover drill all that well. Appreciate the offer, you never know what may happen next.

Where did you fly today?

Flew to the Fry Canyon strip in southern Utah last weekend with the wife and dog. Perfect weather and great scenery!

Re: Where did you fly today?

The sun finally came out today, so I fired up the 540 and went out for 1.5 hr. Got 8 landings 3 on grass. Went to Sandy River and BSed with Rudderbash. Looked at his new to him 94 SS-350 Chev PU, it was a good find!

Smooth air, wonderful afternoon for a rip.

Cheers...Rob

I got the 170 put back together after the annual and took it around the pattern several times. I was making full stop landings on the grass in about 200 feet with no wind. I'm still amazed with this sportsman stol kit!!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I took my brother in law out flying today on the west circuit. We landed at 8 different spots, this was the first time he's ever done any flying like this and I'm pretty sure he liked it!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I took my grandaughter flying yesterday and let her fly for her first time. She did GREAT! She has "the touch". The video is a little long (6min), but it's hard to edit 2 hours of Hobbs time down to 3 minutes, and it was my grandaughter flying. What can I say. Hope you enjoy:

Looks like you and the granddaughter had a blast during some excellent flying conditions; I see you got your share of "stick" time in too... Thanks for posting.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finally got my plane sorta put back together enough to fly - and got my first solo and my first cross country in on the same trip. Flew from Boulder to Santa Fe for thanksgiving:

It was a little bumpy, but not too bad down low - see the wave:
