This is a great story.

It’s wonderful to see a bird repaired rather than being left to die at the hands of Mother Nature. I’ve worked in -40 weather and it’s TOUGH.

Those folks did good.

Great video, I would not have believed it would pencil out to do that.

Great job, great px, that is the group who just lost? the Twin Otter down there. I landed down there in a 141 on wheels, left in a Herc on skiis, '73-74. Beautiful, unforgiving place.

What cool story and video. I'm curious as to how extensive the repairs were for the ferry flight. I wonder how much if anything was done with the idea that 'it's only gotta make it home'?

Why do they not have ground elevation data and a Garmin with Ground prox? My hand held has even pointed out a tower. I understand not seeing the snow covered ground come up but didnt the twin otter just do the same thing but into steeper terrain?

I wonder if international agreements require that they clean up the mess? So, easier to fly it out in one piece rather than to gear up for a dismantle out in the hinterlands and fly the scrap back to McMurdo Sound. Maybe something like that.
