Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

I'll be flying up from SoCal on Wed. Might spend the night somewhere along the way though. Thinking about bringing the MTB but not sure if there will be time for that with all the flying and drinkin (did I hear a KEG of homebrew? )

Not sure if I have the most recent release. I printed mine last year and got weathered out of flying up. Do I need another?

If you have done a release in the past, that is good.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

I'm planning on flying in. I could use a couple days to relax. Any fishing in the river? Going to send in my release/insurance info and make arrangements for someone to feed my horses and cats. :)

I'll see you all at Caveman!

Please let me know if there's anything I can (reasonably) bring to help facilitate 'good times'.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

Anyone coming from the east side of the Rockies got an extra seat? I'd love to get a ride and join the fun.

I'd hoped to be in Fruita for a mountain bike race (18 Hours of Fruita) on the 4th and 5th but it would be a lot more fun to fly than drive.

Colorado River
If catfish is your preference, the Colorado River offers miles of accessible shore line and many sandy beaches from which anglers can try their luck. Chicken livers, grasshoppers, worms and stink bait are popular baits for cat fishing. Crawdads, shrimp and clams can also be used.
Image
Channel Catfish were first introduced into the Colorado River near Moab, Utah in 1919 by active sportsman and public figure, Horace Stone Rutledge. They have deeply forked tails with a rounded anal fin with 24-29 rays and scattered black spots along their back and sides. They have a small, narrow head. The back is blue-gray with light blue to silvery-gray sides and a white belly. Larger channels lose the black spots and also take on a blue-black coloration on the back, shading to white on the belly.

The best time to catch catfish is late in the evening and early morning right before the sun comes up. Catfish also like to hang out in holes where the water is a little deeper. Again, anywhere the current is a little slower and a place where food might gather is great place to find catfish.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

Gary,

Can you put me down for 2? Right now we will be trying to fly over in a rental plane which prohibits off-airport operations, so we may be tying down in Moab and either driving over or bumming a ferry from generous BCP members.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

Might be the same deal, but for me, even though it's an official airport, it's not paved. I've not found an FBO to rent here that will allow me to land on other than paved runways....so I just don't rent.

I figured that is what he meant. Was just being a smart azz. Must be the extreme boredom I've been suffering lately.

Sounds good Gary! Thanks.
