Just found out that the family and I are heading back to alaska in mid-July next year. Will be back on Fort Wainwright, and back in the UH-60. I requested a transition to the OH-58D, but was denied.
We are already getting excited about the family trek up there.

Best of luck Brett with the relocation! Does that 206 have cold weather gear?

Got my official orders today. Wainwright it is. My wife and I have been planning out our trip for a month or two. We're excited to know for sure that we're going back up. We are going to a family camp in Texas until June 29th, then start the trek up. Expected arrival date... whenever we get there. I have until the 15th of July to sign in.
Packing list and where to stay seems like the most challenging aspects. We'll ship all our things in mid to late May. One car will go up in April and a friend is going to pick it up from the Carlisle folks. It will be waiting for us when we get there. The other car will ship right before we leave. We will be living for almost two months with whatever fits in the back of the 206.
We'll most likely take the highway route up because there's no hurry. I'm hoping that accommodations along the way are available. I know they fill up quick in the summer.
The wheel pants are already off. I need to get the boot for the front of the horizontal to save it from the gravel. Other than that, all should be fine until I get up there.
My Drift HD and mount are ready to go and the SPOT will be'a trackin. Man, I'm looking forward to the flight back up there. Ramble over.
