If you find yourself thirsty with a choice of the settling ponds or the river to drink, the river would be the better choice!
That's assuming Tangri-La is out of beer.

They dye it blue to raise the temperature and speed up the evaporation..........vs. dying it blue to keep the hippies from sunbathing in the ponds as some in Moab like to report.
