Nice find! Looks like it's going to be a very well done series. I like the documentary/interview format.

Sounds like the producers need to be invited to do a backcountry segment.

They made it look like a C-17 was a C-5.....so very very very wrong! C-17's will not carry as much as a C-5 but boy howdy we'll do alot more amazing things! lets see them takeoff and land in under 2000ft!

oh and this show looks awesome! What channel is it going to be on????!!!!

I read about the show in my "Canadian Aviator" magazine. Its produced by John Lovelace, of "Wings over Canada" fame. The article in the magazine said it was to be picked up by PBS. But that can all change before then.

With a seemingly constant PR assault on aviation via reports in the news of crashes, federal budget woes, TSA paranoia, general public worrying about 172's crashing into their houses, etc, I think something like this is really going to be the only viable way of appealing to the next generation. You have to put in on TV, in HD, in front of their faces, and say "hey look at this, it's magic and it's important."

I'm very happy that Lovelace is doing this.

Another pilot movie just released

Postby highriskphoto » Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:34 am

:D There is a brand new movie (documentary) that just was released out of Alaska last week entitled, "Alaska's Bush Pilots...Th Real Deal". A no b.s. sotry about these men, their airplanes and what they do in the remote wilderness. I found it on a website that is; www.alaskasbushpilots.com ( copy/paste). It looked very interesting and right down the pike for anyone interested in flying up there. Giant grizzlies! Yikes!

Anyone catch an episode yet? I've viewed the first five or so and I'm very impressed. They cover almost every aspect of aviation from homebuilts to airliners. It's been on a Canadian channel and I'n not sure if its been broadcast in the states yet.

I've watched the last few episodes. I was bummed that I forgot to check and missed several when they started to air. So far it looks like a pretty cool show. Anyone watched Ice Pilots? In the last episode they referenced it. I guess it is another show that is aired in Canada. I'll have too see if I can find any episodes on youtube or something.

We actually shoot the show in full HD. If your broadcaster is airing it in standard def it might be an idea to email them with your thoughts.

In any case, I hope you enjoy the show.

I saw that full episodes were on your site, but if I understood it right, you had to pay to see them. Is that right?

There is a small fee that allows access to all of the episodes in the Members Area. Previews (which contain a complete segment from each episode) are also available and they're free!

Or, you can do what I did, and buy the DVD. Watch it whenever you like, never miss an episode, watch it, and again with friends. Worth the money, in my book.
