Most do a great job of being funny (sarcastic and witty) and only a few take the occational stroll across the line.. And most members are quick to break out teh big stick and beat them back to reality.

If it was not for the humor and comraderie I see on the site, I would not waste my time here

Well, if one of you clowns wants to be witty, see above ^^^^ for 10 words you never want to say in the same sentence. You'll get "teh big stick" and be in the troll cage with me if you do.

The cherokee at Johnson Creek landed to the north with a tailwind. He landed very long. He turned it left just before the north end and put it between trees. Both wings are very damaged from trying to go thru the trees. The fuselage and prop/engine look undamaged. Phil said that after they dragged it back on the runway, he taxied it to where it is now.
It is sitting on the side near the south end awaiting removal. The tires burned grooves in the grass as he went off of the runway. He landed north way down the runway with a significant tailwind.

Be careful out there

That's the one Rob. Could have been worse, the wings took the brunt of it and he walked away. Saw it Thursday.

Crash at Johnson Creek

jomac wrote:good grief what's a few crashes...when my cfi buddy from wyo was staying there, a few birds came in on the end of a sling, they too crashed "somewhere" but no one killed...so they hauled them off on a truck. big deal...while i am sorry for their circumstance, they can get other birds...glad that "they" are all OK...
as a group we gotta get over the "seemingly terrible" act of crashing. if u r an outdoor guy, and i mean everything fromatv's, sleds, heavenforbid skateboards, deep snow skiier/boarder, hiker or etc, it comes with the frickin' territory...! quit worrying about what everybody thinks if we bend something. they aint gonna close off our access to places 'cause of a little bent metal. go land these places if u want to. do it responsibly. do it with respect to leave it pristine for everyone else. best yet, get a local CFI, and there are some damn good ones to go with you! challis to mccall, u can find a pro if u ask, do it and it is $ well spent.

granted, we dont need the neg publicity, but still we have a right to be there as much as anyone else...SO, if u should end up at JC, like i have damn it 7 years ago with a crunched bird, use it as a motivator to get a little better at it, dust yourself off, and get goin'...with a little help...!

I've crashed cars and an airplane. I crash better than anyone I know.

I have wheel pants on my 182, but I only take it to J.C, Atlanta (ID), Moose Creek, etc....
Not the tight ones-or the (known) rough ones...
It helps get there faster, and they (WP) are useful for trips to traditional airports elsewhere.

Ok, I'm not hardcore. Also my J-3 isn't overpowered with only 90 hp, but if your/I'm 'thinking', you/I can get into quite a few of the other strips with that kind of plane solo.

I do admire the 'hardcore' on here like Pops...
