Hey Gump, do you fly into Eureka for Slim?

That rainy Sunday of the Austin Fly In three years ago my wife and I tried to get home, but only made it as far as Eureka. The weather was crap to the North. So the lady that lives at the airport gave us a ride to town for a motel and picked us up the next morning. It seemed like a pain for her, but she was nice about it.

Can you just show up and get tickets? We could only come if we fly, so a ride to town could be a problem.

Fly or drive. One of us will come get you at the airport. And tickets at the door are never a problem.

We wander that way fairly frequently, and have never seen the seating at a venue over maybe 1/3 full. It's about as laid back as it gets to see a show. Great folks, no crowds at all, and you just walk out the door and down the street a door or two to hit the waterhole after.

We're planning on flying for this year's Sourdough show, but friends from Smokey Valley are driving up, and their rig will be available as an airport shuttle.

So Ernie if Caveman is May 4,5,6 How about Death Valley 7,8,9. You a golfer? Death Valley has a golf course. Maybe the Chicken Strip and Kern Valley. Then Eureka for Sourdough Slim then home. What do you think?

Just a head's up for anyone planning on flying to Eureka from the west on the 11th....

President Obama is going to be in Reno all day Friday, the 11th... So guess what, all our f**king airspace will be shut down. I may play musical airplanes Thursday evening/night, or I may just say f**k it and drive.

Mothers day weekend, you know what that means.

I really want to fly down to see Sour Dough Slim with you Nevada guys. I know the wife has other plans for me.

It is good that my wife and I both still have our moms, we will spend time with them both on Sunday.

Now if the wife tells me she is busy Friday and Saturday. That's a long shot. ha ha
