Man, between you and RDUStinson I don't feel welcome around the kegerator or at the turf strip any more. Who knew being a Skywagon guy could be so lonely :(

Darn, I went to bed to early. :)
I do miss my Stinson sometimes, and for the first 6 months of 180 flying I missed it on every landing. :)

For me I would say the Stinson. I have over 25 years flying Stinson's and have seen a lot of Males. As well as have a few hours in the Maules . Friends have them and they are a great plane .. A little harder to climb in the Maule.
The Stinson can land a lot slower and the landing gear is stout and well built. The Male has a bigger side door and tends to haul a little heaver load . The Stinson is lacking in the room for hauling large loads and makes the back seat hard to access with large idioms. They are both great planes And I would not take nothing away from the Maules.. I will stick with my Stinson , I don't care how fast it will go as long as it gets me there.

Awwwwwwwww, when I get my Faux One-Eighty back from Oreygone you can come over the hill and visit with like-minded aviators. Those other guys are just jealous is all.

Thanks Gump, nice to know I've got some friends left. I don't know what the problem is, not like I sold the Stinson and bought a Maule! [-X

The Maule is going to get in and out of a tighter spot. The gear on the Stinson is hell for stout. I have always admired the line of the Stinson --reminds me of the classic line of some of the best of American industrial design.

I ride the Maule. Short landings mean a good deal to me. They open up more country.

Tom, Noted. :) I pass your strip on my way to and from JC, unfortunately, I'm usually at max gross (nothing like hauling an extra 100lbs of donations though). I'll PM you on my next trip your way. :)

Vick, isn't it time for your bi-annual trans-continental trip? (And no, not above class A airspace... ).

I had the Stinson in some pretty ruff spots. They will Handel the bush flying and off strip landings. Decked out with 31" bush wheels ,VGs, drop tips. With extended flaps 200 ft landings and short take off are not impossible. Great plane. Hope to have the 0470 done soon. The key to a lot of bush flying is power, and handling the aircraft.

Have you tried? It's the bottled beer taste in a can. Cans=lighter than bottles, good for aircraft with (*ahem*) modest useful load.

You're really slipping now! What happened- did they ban real beer out there in granola-hippie-land when they eliminated clear gas?

good for aircraft with (*ahem*) modest useful load.

Actually I'm quite pleased with over 1000# of useful load and 50 gallons of gas- of course I recall that your predilection for the small tails prevented you from realizing either in your previous bird. You can lead a horse to water...

Hey, watch it! Us small tail owners are very biased.

Whoops, collateral damage. :o I have definitely noticed the characteristic you describe. I've surely taken flak for my "big rear end", but the big tail comes with increased capability.

Were it not for Vick's vanity, he would probably not be in a spam can today... :P
