PHOTOS - 1st Annual Nor Cal / Sierra Fly-In

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Well after a big long weekend of really fun flying, here is my long edit of photos. Think I shot about 500 pics.

I know I had a really great time show casing the great flying we have around here. To get a lot of planes on a couple of our spots at around 9000' is pretty darn cool. Everyone landed at least once about 8700'.

No real big events other than a couple tail wheels going flat on the second day and a dead battery at 9800' (thats another story for someone to elaborate on)(but is was fun going back up there to drop of jumper cables and a car battery at noon when it was nice and hot...).

Just a really great time getting to know more of the members here!

My apologies if your BCP name is wrong here or if I dont know it:

Words really cannot express the good time we had and we alomst finsished the keg of beer! Will be looking forward to doing this again in October for certain!!! We only really scrached the surface on the circuit. ALL total I think they got to see about 20 of the 50 plus spots we have. That just leaves more reasons for everyone to come back. I am not very good at words so I will leave yo with the photo link here. I hope you enjoy them.

Congrats to Zane on his marriage!! We spoke of you guys often! Avidflyer...we missed you as well man! Your serving our country proud!

Kevin and crew,

Those are some great looking trip photos from the weekend. I spent some years living in the Eastern Sierra and the Whites/Inyos, so I really enjoyed seeing the country again with a BCP twist on it. Wish I could have joined you.

Looks like an awesome weekend. Where did you find the cowboy and sheep dog props?

Is the John in the picutures the John of Yellowbird fame?

Wish I could have been there.

That would be Yellowbird John! The guy on the horse "just showed up" all of a sudden up on that ridge. He was looking for his cattle. The best part of that story was that he said "you see that tree down there? I own the property from that tree to about as far as you can see beyond. You guys need to see if you can land somewhere over there. A'nt never seen anyone land on a mountain top before. Pretty cool"...The circuit continues to grow...He said he had a few cattle that had wondered up high due to the heat and he was out looking for them. He was a real cowboy.

Here are a couple more photos...

Looks like a great time!! I wish I was there but I got to go to a friends kick ass wedding and it was well worth it. I hope I can make October but I won't get back from Africa till the 16th and will have to get the motor back in 321TL. We will see.

Cheers...Rob

Unfortunatly you just have to come for a visit to get the mine....Its one of the more hazardous landings. Lat / Longs are provided on the first flight, once I have taken you there... :)

Great pictures! I can't stop looking through them while sitting here in my office cube on labor day.

Perhaps somehow I'll be able to make it to a future Truckee fly-in.

Great video Russ! Those girls where real troopers! I had a lot of fun flying with Stacey in spots. At one point she looked at me and said "I feel like I am on an effen roller coaster" as we dove of the mountain. I am betting Rob will be getting bush wheels soon now. I think that was his plan having me fly her a bit...She even said, "damn, we need Big tires". Nicely done Rob!

Funny about that cow stuff. It plugged my hole!!!
