Auto fuel at Payette, ID

Postby qmdv » Thu Oct 27, 2011 4:43 pm

Just got this off Idaho Pilots

The Payette Airport now has self service fuel system
operational.
This includes 100 LL AV-GAS and 91 Octane MO-GAS.
http://tax.idaho.gov/forms/EFO00055_10-10-2008.pdf
For MO-GAS users the Idaho “Form 75” linked above
can be filled out monthly, quarterly, or yearly to receive
a refund of 18 cents per gallon. This is the difference
between road tax of 25 cents and av fuel tax of 7 cents
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD

I do not know the price

My guess is Yes. Ethanol free 91 octane is readily available at many gas stations through out Idaho :D

Bravo to the fuel vendor at Payette! Great price too-- I'm paying $4.32 for 92 octane off the airport here in western WA at my last local source of E-zero.
minimums are for busting

I was told that in Idaho all the premium was Ethanol free. Maybe they were full of it, but if that's true it could be a solution that everyone could live with.

Last 3 summers I've stopped at Emmit ,Idaho airport and drove courtesy car to town -north of down town is Sinclair with no gas a hole -in high test. 5 gallon cans from airport -see John Reeder for car and Cans.

I just saw a news article which reported that the U.N. is saying that leaded fuel will disappear in two years! They aren't specifically talking about 100LL, but after that point in time, leaded avgas will become the biggest target for eradication.

http://news.yahoo.com/un-leaded-fuel-gone-2013-223737108.html

If you can burn auto fuel, support the airports that carry it, because there is a chance that the day will come when it is all that's available.

If auto gas is sold on an airport for aviation purposes, it must be ethanol free. The FAA approval of the STCs requires ethanol free auto gasoline.

The reason is that all of the refiners in the third world are finally converting to unleaded auto fuel production and diesel, with the help of the U.N. That target date has been the end of 2012. As we have been reporting on the GAFuels blog for the last two years, the only plant in the world that makes TEL (the "lead" in gasoline) will probably stop making it after 2012 because the U.S. avgas market is no market at all for them.

If you can burn auto fuel, support the airports that carry it, because there is a chance that the day will come when it is all that's available.

Unfortunately there is also the possibility that ethanol free gasoline may also completely disappear about the end of 2012. According to the mandatory ethanol quotas in EISA 2007 the amount of ethanol that must be blended in gasoline will completely swamp the gasoline pool by the end of next year. 2013 could be the perfect storm for aviation fuel. To understand why, see www.e0pc.com

Do you mean Buhl, ID? It has mogas, but you have to find someone to pump it for you. Or Burley, ID? which does not seem to have mogas according to AirNav. I can find no Burl, ID.

I run the web site flyunleaded.com, which has a mogas airport listing. I appreciate the news that Payette, ID has mogas and have added it to the listings for ID. If you know of other airports anywhere with mogas, please use the email link on the web site to keep us up to date.

If you are running into bueaucratic BS, maybe U-Fuel through the Aviation Fuel Club can assist you. You might want to communicate with Kent Misegades through the link on the web site.
