The newest ads I see are for a kit, and a project.1 finished for $115K

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

For anyone wondering about building to fly.... it is possible to speed things up if you have time on your hands. This is my Bearhawk after just two (very busy) weeks. I am also working a full time job, but I figure if it takes 1200 hours then I am almost 10% of the way there already!

All the controls, seats, empanage, etc. have been installed too, but (as picutred) have been removed to allow the next steps to proceed freely in my confined space. Its great fun building and very rewarding too.

Too bad he put the Mazda on it. It is located down the river from me and is a nice looking plane. A continental or lycoming on this would make a beautiful bird.

I met Bob Barrows way back at Arlington one year. He's a quiet unassuming guy and a terrific builder. I think Bud Davisson is involved in the marketing of the kits. Bob is out of it now, he sells the Patrol plans. I had a plan set under #100 way back then but after pounding out a few ribs I sold it and got a store bought airplane.

Bob sells plans for three designs, Bearhawk, Patrol and LSA(scaled down Patrol). He also sells some parts - windshields, struts, etc. Avipro sells kits, welded assemblies and parts. Bud Davisson founded Avipro, but I've heard that he's no longer involved.

FWIW:

It looks like a scratch-built or a very early kitset - because the cowl shape, Maule style intake, and rear windows are a different design to most kits. Also there's no cargo doors.

Undercarriage looks splayed out, unless it's above gross weight as pictured. There's been an Engineering Notice released from the designer about that condition.

Price is very right.
