Shoulder Surgery/Looking for a Ride

Postby M6RV6 » Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:31 pm

OK so I'm going to have some surgery on my shoulder tomorrow from my little run in with the local cops after I wrecked my 182 Amphib last April.
It does not look like I will have time to get enough pieces of Cessna put back together and I do not think that I will have time to get the Glastar put together and the hours flown off by May!! I will have a sling on my arm for 6 weeks!!
I need a bird to go back to AK by the first of May.
I have a RV6 with a tip up canopy with new motor mount, gear legs and a 0 time 0-320, also have a really nice 195 with new paint, interior, and a mid time 275 Jake.
I am open to offers to trade for something a little more viable to take back North. I do not want to take the 195 as it is really to nice to take to to many gravel strips! [-X
The RV6 is a fantastic ship, but me and the dog are going to have to argue over who is going to fly it?? And I either take along some dog food for him or my toothbrush and an extra set of shorts for me! #-o
Willing to look at most anything! Plane poor and broke so have to trade. Will trade strait or down?
If anyone knows where a M4 with a Franklin or a 210 in it is let me know. M6 would work also! Super Stinson or one with a 180 and CS, Cessna 205 would work, 170/175 with Lyc or a Franklin, 182, 210,I know where a older 210 is but he does not need an RV6 so would even look at a 3 way to make something work. Piper 235 if real good deal? V35? :?:
Experimental does not bother me actually would prefer! (I don't fit in the little ones)(6'3" no matter which way you measure  )
Would trade both for a good Amphib if someone really wants to get rid of there's? Even consider a Lake. :?:
Does not need to be a BC ship as will have just long gravel runways. 8)
As you can tell not real picky, just need some wings for the summer. [-o<
Let me know what you have that you don't need
Thanks All.

Good luck on the surgery! Loving the new house, job is good so far too, commute will get old though. Looking for a taildragger to fly, in the meantime I've been getting to fly some DA-40s a little bit.

Hey George,

Sorry about the surgery (and the 6 weeks in a sling #-o ).
If you get stuck for a ride out, let me know. Hopefully we will have thawed out a bit by then [-o<

Dang, I wish you were looking for an older 172 instead of all that other stuff! I am wanting a 'speedster' to go visit the kids and no longer need a 4 seater.
I had shoulder surgery the winter before last. Had ripped my shoulder out of the socket somehow. I think maybe it was from having my bow set at too high of poundage. :(
They put in a couple pins to ,and then stitch the socket back into shape and the Doc cut excess bone off (overhanging acromion). Lots of physical therapy but I worked it as hard as I dared and now it feels like new. Wish you luck and a fast recouperation!!!

Hi GT, I hope all gos well with the surgery. 6 Weeks in the sling , then still a long recovery. Don't rush it. I had both of mine done not once but three times. I wish you a fast recovery my friend.

Hmmm...

The 195 is tempting. Always liked those. I have a '54 170B with a 195 hp Continental IO-360, 8.00s on 180 gear and jumpseats in the back. Never thought about trading/selling until the kids got bigger.

PM me if you're serious, even though I am not really sure I am.

Hope your feeling better soon!!

Too bad you didn't have some cash. I might be willing to work a good deal on my 182  I'm not desperate to sell yet. But, I could use some cash about now  .
