I'm sure to get some shit for this one. I can already hear you diehard macho guys out there cracking your knuckles, getting ready to post about how real men only drink coffee black, end of story.
Well, if being a "real" man means I have to substitute my morning 1% latte with something else while plane/car camping, then I guess I'm a girlie man...
I like to add about 2.5 shots of espresso made with either dark espresso roast or a dark french roast to about 5 oz of heated and frothed milk. I guess it's kind of a latte/cappucino hybrid.
I got one of these for christmas:
Laroma stovetop espresso maker:
It's just a tiny thing but i can use it on the range top or on a MSR Whisperlite. No electricity required. It doesn't quite make real espresso...more of a super strong coffee that is strong enough to get a good latte flavor from, although it has to be brewed with low-to-medium heat. I go about 4-5 on the range dial and it takes 10 minutes.
There's also these little guys, popular with backpackers:
I haven't had the chance to use one yet though.
