1973 182P Battery Box

Good Day All.

An elementary question I know...but does anyone have a source for a battery box replacement for a 1973 182 P? After a few hours of searching I haven't really seen many options to purchase from...let alone at a reasonable cost.

The Canadian winter has taken its tole on the plastic.... and needs replacing.

Here's to the snow.... just finally starting to melt!

Get rid of that POS battery and it's box.

Replace it with a firewall mounted battery and box. Here's the box: http://www.fadodge.com/index.php?option ... &Itemid=53

Odyssey battery goes in there....MUCH lighter, cranks harder, and all good.

I always thought that the best place for the battery in a 182P was the tailcone, or in an extended tailcone, or trailing behind like a glider or something like that. Talk about nose heavy...

We listen to the Winnipeg news every night, have missed the part about the snow melting. He must be using a tiger torch.

Re: 1973 182P Battery Box

Thanks....kick a guy when he is down. Lol.

Albeit a stretch to say the snow is melting here in Winnipeg...the water droplets on my back deck from the warming sun count in "my world" after 6 months of "full on" winter!

MTV....the altee dodge firewall battery mod....looks like not an option for the 182 according to the site...if I am reading it correctly.

Any other suggestions for where to get a new battery box?

Cheers

Ever hear of "survival gear"? The empty CG is not totally relevant....it's how you load it. The firewall battery lightens the plane, thus you can trade useless extra battery weight for potentially useful survival gear....though we'll hope we never need it. A win-win mod.

Macdon,

Can you get the battery mod approved there, based on similarity of the 180?

Alternatively, REMOVE the battery box altogether, and install the bigger Odyssey battery in the stock location.....it's a sealed battery, and requires no battery box.
